Art Alliance for Contemporary Glass
www.ContempGlass.org |
The Art Alliance for Contemporary Glass is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to further the development and appreciation of art made from glass. The Alliance informs collectors, critics and curators by encouraging and supporting museum exhibitions, university glass departments and specialized teaching programs, regional collector groups, visits to private collections, and public seminars.
The newsletter and website contain extensive listing opportunities for galleries. The links to galleries is very useful for finding art glass galleries in areas where you may be traveling to. They have a collector network and, I believe, a mailing list that is available. They also provide a pair of free tickets to SOFA Chicago and special events.

The Glass Art Society (GAS) is an international nonprofit organization founded in 1971 whose purpose is to encourage excellence, to advance education, to promote the appreciation and development of the glass arts, and to support the world- wide community of artists who work with glass. GAS members are artists, students, educators, collectors, gallery and museum personnel, writers, and critics, among others. Membership is open to anyone interested in glass art.
This organization has an annual conference that includes demonstrations, lectures, trade show, auctions and parties. They have an excellent website and produce a newsletter.

Art Calendar Magazine
www.ArtCalendar.com |
Mission: To connect artists with income and exhibition opportunities.
The magazine is in its 20th year. Selling art isn't necessarily easy, but it CAN be done. Our mission is to provide the most comprehensive source of listings of professional opportunities for visual artists available anywhere. We were using this slogan 20 years ago -- we lived up to it then, and we live up to it now. Each issue features 20-30 pages of hundreds of listings of juried shows, residencies, grants, galleries reviewing portfolios, publishing opportunities, positions open, and much more. Along with the listings, we provide a variety of readable ("No CriticSpeak!") articles for working artists. Every month we cover topics such as self promotion, art marketing, selling on the Internet, effective display techniques, licensing and reproduc- tions, public art and commissions, artists making a difference, art law, federal and hazards updates, "soul food," psychology of creativity, and artists creating community/working together.
